Bishop Tony L. Mitchell, Sr.
Bishop Tony Mitchell is the visionary founder and senior pastor of Shekinah Glory Worship Center (SGWC) in Columbus, Georgia, which serves nearly 300 members. As mandated by God, Bishop Mitchell’s goal is to establish satellite churches around the world. With over 27 years in ministry, Bishop Mitchell is committed to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people, restoring lives through the life changing power of the Word of God.
Bishop Mitchell served for 22 years in Communication in the United States Army, where he received many awards and medals for his superior service and extraordinary leadership skills.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Bishop Mitchell received the vision for Shekinah Glory Worship Center in 2001. He held the church’s first bible study in the home of Miles and Shirley Branscomb, with only seven people in attendance. Within three months, the Ministry moved from the Branscomb home to the Karate USA building and then to the present location on Morningside Drive. The first service was held on Easter Sunday in 2002.
A much sought-after conference speaker, Bishop Mitchell is known for his practical teaching and preaching of the Bible. He has encouraged thousands from Korea to Hawaii to pursue a personal relationship with God. Bishop Mitchell is the General Secretary of Moving With a Vision Ministries Worldwide, serving under the tutelage of Presiding Prelate, Apostle Jerlette Mickie, New Light Cathedral, Woodford, Virginia.
Bishop Mitchell and his wife Sandra are parents to 4 children, 3 sons and one daughter.
